2007-2008The sisters’ Arabic school
We had two classes going on: Tajweed Class Second Level, Conversational Arabic class and Arabic for beginners. I was teaching Tajweed rules class, which consists of learning the correct way of reading The Arabic language but this time, under my supervision, all the students who have completed first year of Tajweed Rules had to do there own extended research on one of the Tajweed Rules and to present their topic in the classroom to everybody. The other class was taught by Ustathah Umm Naser .She was teaching the students The Arabic Alphabet and how to read and write Arabic. I was teaching Conversational Arabic every the third week of every month .The class was consisted of presenting recipes by the students in Arabic language and helping the others learn the ingredients in Arabic and enjoying the food at the end of the class.
The test at the end of the year consisted of written test about Tajweed rules and the vocabulary they learnt from the recipes and Quran recitation of the ‘Suraat’ Studied with the proper rules and reading any page of Quran with Tajweed rules. Conserning Arabic for beginners, Students had a written test with reading and writing exercises.
The graduation party was held at the end of the year with the students reading Quran with the proper rules and reciting some Quran verses. More than 50 sisters attended the party .The teachers had gifts and the students had their certificates of completion signed by their teachers, the Imam of the mosque, and the President of the mosque.

Recipe: BAGELS WITH CREAM CHEEZE كعك بكريمة الجبن
Ingredients ----المقادير
· Bagel ---- الكعك Al ka3k
· Butter ---- الزبده Azzubdah
· 1 container cream cheese ----علبة كريمة الجبن 3ulbat kreemat al jubn
Directions ---الطريقة
Take the bagel and split it open along the width. ---
ناخذ الكعك ونفتحه من الوسط هكذا
Next, put both pieces into the toaster and toast until golden brown. ---
-ثم نطرح القطعتين في المحمصة حتى تتحمر قليلا
Take the bagels out of the toaster and let cool slightly, about 2 minutes.
----نخرج الخبز من المحمصة ونتركه يبرد دقيقتين
Once slightly cooled, spread butter on both slices. ---
- عندما تبرد الشريحتين ندهنهما بالزبدة
After that, spread cream cheese on both slices. ---
-بعد ذالك ندهنهما بكريمة الجبن

Recipe: Cups of blueberries
المقاديرIngredients
Serves 6-8
Pastry for a 9-inch pie عجينة كافية لفطيرة متوسطة
4 Cups of blueberries 4 اكواب من العنب البري
3/4 Cup of sugar 3 / 4 كأس من السكر
3 tablespoons of flour 3 ملاعق الطعام من الطحين
1 tablespoon cinnamon 1 ملعقه الطعام قرفة
1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 ملعقه الطعام عصير الليمون
Preparation الطريقة
Preheat oven to 375 degrees سخن الفرن الى 375 درجة
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry
نرش الطحين فوق ارضية مسطحة ثم نسرح العجين
Combine the blueberries, 3/4 cup of sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl.
في اناء نخلط التوت البري و 3/4 كوب سكر والدقيق و القرفة
Pour the blueberry mixture into the pie crust and mound in
the center. Sprinkle over the lemon juice.
نصب خليط التوت البري وسط عجين الباي ثم نرش عصير الليمون
Brush the top lightly with 1 tablespoon melted butter and sprinkle evenly with remaining sugar.
بالفرشات ندهن الفطيرة بملعقة زبدة مذوبة ونرش متساو مع ما تبقى من السكر
Bake until the pastry is golden brown, about 45 minutes.
نخبز الفطيرة في الفرن حتى يصير لونها ذهبي ، حوالي 45 دقيقة

Recipe: Spicy Lasagna Roll-Ups لفائف اللزانيا
YIELD: Makes 4 servings
INGREDIENTSالمقادير
1 Pound ground beef بقر لحم
½ cup chopped onion بصلة
2cloves garlic, minced ثوم
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning توابل ايطالية
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes رقائق فلفل احمر مجفف
1 can condensed tomato soup بندورة حساء
1 cup chopped zucchini كوسى
¾ cup water ماء
1 fat-free ricotta cheese ½ cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese جبن
1egg بيضة
4cooked lasagna noodles 4 شرائح معكرونة اللزانيا مطهية
تحضير preparation:
نسخن الفرن الى 350درجة ونضع مقلات كبيرة مدهونةفوق النار حتى تسخن نضيف اللحم المفروم ,البصل,الثوم,التوابل الايطالية ثم رقائق الفلفل الاحمر المجفف نحرك حتى يطهى اللحم و البصل ثم نضيف حساء الطماطم والكوسة و الماء نترك الخليط على نار هادئة لمدة 5دقائق ثم نصب الخليط على صحيفة مسطحة
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray; heat over medium heat until hot. Add turkey, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes; cook and stir until turkey is no longer pink and onion is tender. Add soup, zucchini and water; simmer 5 minutes. Pour soup mixture into shallow 2-quart baking dish.
في اناء نخلط البيض و الجبن فوق شرائح معكرونة اللزانيا نصب نصف كوب من خليط الجبن و البيض ثم نلف اللزانيا و نضعها فوق الخليط الاول هكذا
Combine ricotta, mozzarella and egg in medium bowl; mix well. Place lasagna noodles on flat surface; spread 1/2 cup cheese mixture on each noodle. Roll up noodles, enclosing filling; place rolls, seam sides down, over soup mixture.
نغطي الصحيفة و ندخلها الفرن لمدة 30 دقيقة نزيل الغطاء وندخلها الفرن 10دقائق اخرىوفي صحن التقديم نضع لفائف اللزانيا اولا ثم نضع الصلصة فوقهاوشهية كيبة
Cover and bake 30 minutes; uncover and continue baking an additional 10 minutes or until sauce is bubbly. Place lasagna rolls on serving dish; spoon remaining sauce over rolls.

Ingredients:

1 lb. Ground Beef or Turkey ( pawn allahm al mafroom baqar aw deek roomee)
باون اللحم المفروم بقر او ديك رومي
1 Packet Taco Seasoning (ulbat attaakoo tawaabel
1 علبة تاكو توابل
Tortilla Bread (khubz atturteya)
Tortilla خبز
Taco sauce (salsat attaakoo)
صلصه تاكو
Chopped Lettuce (khuss mafroom)
الخس المفروم
Chopped Tomatoes (tamaatim mafroomah)
الطماطم المفرومة
1 Packet Shreaded Cheese (ulbat jubn mafroomah)
علبة جبن مفرومة
Sour Cream (optional) (اختياري (kreemah haamidah)
كريمة حامضة
2 tb. Olive Oil
ملعقتين من زيت الزيتون
Directions:
الطريقة
1. Heat olive oil in skillet until hot. Put onion into the skillet and cook until soft.
ضعي زيت الز يتون في المقلات حتى تسخن ثم اضيفي البصل واتركيه يطهى حتى يصير لينا.
2. Add ground beef or turkey and cook until brown..
نضيف اللحم المفروم ونتركه يتحمر
3. Add the toco seasoning. Cook for about 2 more minutes and set aside..
اضيفي توابل تاكو دعي الكل يطهى دقيقتين ثم اتركيه جانبا
4. Toast the tortillas.
نحمص التورتيات
5. Spoon some meat, cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce into one corner of the tortilla.
بالملعقة في ركن التورتية نضع القليل من اللحم و الطماطم و الجبن
6. Spoon some taco sauce and sour cream into the tortilla.
ثم القليل من صلصة التاكو و الكريمة الحامضة
7. Roll the tortilla and enjoy!

2007-2008 The Sisters' Arabic School Graduation Party
It was a succesful graduation party,more than 50 sisters had attended to encourage and congratulate their freinds or family members who attended the classes for the whole year.We started by introducing the classes ,the teachers, the students who have attended, the activities done..than the students performed reading and reciting Quran with tajweed rules. they got their certificates. the teachers got gifts and thanks letters from the mosque.
